The Right to Choose Our Own Food?
Do Texans have the right to choose the foods they eat? The Texas big dairy industry doesn’t seem to think so. They have put out an advertising campaign that warns against the “dangers” of drinking raw milk. The Farm and Ranch Freedom Alliance has issued a letter to DairyMax demanding that they retract their false advertisements. The letter details the incorrect statements in the advertisements.
I drink Texas certified raw milk and think that raw milk is healthier and more nutritious. [Go to Real Milk.com and the WAPF website for information about the benefits and safety of raw milk.] Besides the health benefits, it tastes better! I quit drinking milk when I was in elementary school. My mother thought I might be allergic, but I knew I just didn’t like it. When I discovered raw milk a few years ago, I said “WOW! It tastes really good, creamy and rich. Yes, I have to shake it up before pouring, but it’s worth it. I want to continue to have the right to buy raw milk–preferably without needing to drive 2-3 hours to get it–and all the other food I think is good for me, like eggs from pastured chickens, local farmers’ produce, and local grassfed beef.
So, do I have that right?
