Money Bomb Monsanto
Almost 1 million signatures from registered voters have been collected in California to place on the November 6 ballot an initiative that will require labeling of genetically engineered foods, the Right to Know Genetically Engineered Food Act. To support the California Right to Know campaign, a coalition of farmers, health groups, and organic food manufacturers are attempting to raise one million dollars, known as the Money Bomb. Donationscan be made online, via regular snail mail, or over the phone. The Money Bomb will be active from May 1 though May 26. A group of Right to Know public interest organizations and organic companies have promised to match the first million dollars raised through the Money Bomb.
I’ve donated to the campaign!. Will you?
It’s important to support the California campaign no matter where you live because California has the eighth largest economy in the world, and any labeling law enacted in the state will have significant influence on all companies producing food that contains genetically engineered ingredients. They will not want to produce separate labels and containers. It is hoped that they will opt to replace GE ingredients as has happened in the over 40 countries around the world that already require labeling.
Dr. Mercola discusses the historical implications and importance of the California labeling law and the Money Bomb:
There is a link to the Money Bomb donation page in the right sidebar as well as here. It will remain up through May 26.
